A bunch of jolly carollers got into the spirit of things with Santa hats, tinsel, and even reindeer antlers. In the quiet little town of Strangford, the strains of Away in a Manger drifted quietly across the lough as seagulls wafted in time to the music … and then we had a great lunch in Cuan’s Inn, where the landlord and some of his staff sang Silent Night to us.
After restoring the inner person, we proceeded to Castle Ward Estate in our coach, newly emblazoned with our name(!), to cluster round a large Christmas tree in the enclosed courtyard, where visiting children joined in the singing.
